Dr. Hari K. Upadhyaya was Project Leader and was involved in study design, survey work, data analysis and report writing.

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

This research study was carried out in selected Hill districts of all five Development Regions of Nepal. The major objective of the study was to explore the causes and consequences of the choice of property rights institutions and the role of collective action in natural resource management. The study focused on identifying major factors affecting the evolution of property rights institutions, assessing the equity implications of property rights institutions and analyzing quantitatively the impact of various collective action on the efficiency of forest management and agriculture development.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED

CEAPRED provided Project Leader, support staff and logistic support to the Project. The following activities were undertaken:
