NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

The goal of the project is to increase marginalized youth's access to education and training for income generation and employment in conflict affected area. The program is targeted towards disadvantaged groups (dalit, janjati, women) and conflict affected youth, aged 16 - 30 in the most intensely conflicted affecte region of Nepal, the Mid-West Region

The project aims to increase number of disadvantaged groups securing employment based on technical skill training. It also provide number of scholarship to dalit and other disadvantaged youth's to facilitate enrollment in the formal education system. Likewise, improved literacy, life skills and peace building skills for disadvantaged youlth's will be promoted.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Increase agricultural productivity and income generation by providing improved training opportunities to targeted youths.
  • Awareness creation of disadvantaged youth groups (16 – 30 yrs)
  • Social mobilization of the targeted communities of program areas.
  • Increase disadvantaged and conflict affected youth’s access to training for income generation and employment in conflict affected areas of Nepal.
  • Capacity building of disadvantaged youth's group and linking them to micro enterprises
  • Strengthening institutional linkages
  • Improved literacy, life and peace building skills for targeted youths
  • Vocational education and employment training to youths
  • Increased number of scholarships for targeted youth especially Dalits
