NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
The Asian Vegetable and Mango IPM IL program will implement ecologically-based, participatory IPM in Cambodia, Nepal, and Bangladesh, with a focus on pests (insect pests, pathogens, weeds) of tomato, eggplant, cabbage, cauliflower, beans, cucurbits, onion, and mango. In Nepal, the AVMIPM-IL, undertake adaptive research to tailor IPM practices and packages to locally adopted condition in two districts i.e. Banke and Surkhet. The IPM IL will develop, adapt, and diffuse IPM technologies through close interaction among international and host-country scientists in public and private institutions and with the Feed the Future activities. Refinement of IPM Packages in major vegetables with introduction of coco-peat and plastic tray for healthy seedling production along with research studies on temporal and spatial distribution of Harmigera and Slitura. The other activity focused is to test tolerant/resistant cultivars off eggplant against EFSB (L.orbonalis). The program is ongoing in these areas with the objectives to;

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED
- AVM-IPMIL would conduct the primarily research on new components handover to other FtF Initiative projects for further dissemination
- The project will take lead to develop refined IPM Packages in new crop commodities and make available for dissemination
- The project aims to develop one or two more number of IPM Learning centre at farmer group level for more effectiveness.
- A number of short term and long term trainings would be provided to target beneficiaries in terms of addressing IPM concept, production post harvest losses or market related issues.
