NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

This research-cum-action project examined various problems and potentials of women in the farming system in Naldung village of Kavre district. The research found that many agricultural development projects/policies have not been sensitive to women’s needs. Opportunities have not been provided to women in raising agriculture production and productivity though women’s labour contribution is very high in agricultural activities.

The research program also facilitated women to start off-farm income generating activities. Vegetable production in kitchen gardens was successfully implemented. Training programs on fodder, fuel wood, pasture management, agroforestry, livestock and knitting were provided to the community people, more specifically women.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED

CEAPRED provided Project Leader, support staff and logistic support to the Project and successfully implemented the project envisaged activities.
