NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
| The main objective of the project was to increase mass awareness on the nutritional value of vegetable crops by way of encouraging the plantation of vegetables in the kitchen garden and promoting general agriculture extension to improve food sufficiency and nutritional standard of the participating households. Strengthening the local capacity for production, consumption and marketing of surplus vegetables through self help groups formed under the LWF also falls under the project activity. The project also aimed at introducing bee-keeping, small livestock rearing (such as goat and pig) in the area to raise the income of the targeted population thereby improving their standard of living. |
