NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
| The overall objective of the project is to reduce poverty and social tension through quick income generation in remote areas of Nepal by promoting production and marketing of vegetable seeds in remote and conflict affected areas with special focus on deprived communities and families. The project envisages to provide option for income generation and sustainable economic growth to farmers of remote and conflict affected areas and thereby contribute to poverty reduction and local development. The project aims at involving and encouraging poor and marginalized groups and families(very poor farmers, women-headed households, Dalit, conflict-affected and displaced people) in vegetable seed production. The project is expected to avail easy and timely access to quality seeds at reasonable cost to the fresh and off-season vegetable growing farmers of more accessible areas and the traders of vegetable seeds from their involvement in collection, transportation and marketing of vegetable seeds. |
