Mr. Purna L. Shrestha and Mr. Bhuban Raj Bhatta were responsible for the implementation, supervision and monitoring of the project activities.

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

The overall objective of the project's was to reduce the rate of chronic diseases and mortality of children (under five years of age) in poor and remote communities of Nepal. The project focused on improving sanitation and nutritional status reducing chronic respiration problems, eye infection and burns around the cooking area and enhancing the knowledge of the population on health and sanitation related issues, modifying/improving the health and sanitation related habits and enhancing their preventive behavior. The project was implemented in two wards of Dashrathchand Municipality and six VDCs of Baitadi district.
