NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
This IGPWF was implemented with the purpose of utilizing the huge market potentials in and around Pokhara and exporting off-season vegetables to nearby urban areas such as Butwal, Narayanghat, Bhairahawa and border towns of India. The objectives were to increase farm income of women farmers and their families to meet their cash requirements, involve 1000 to 1500 women farmers and raise their income to the range of NRs. 10,000 to NRs. 15,000 per annum; develop local institutions and regulate market development activities on a sustainable basis. |
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED
>CEAPRED staff sensitized and motivated farmers to form production groups for off-season vegetable production. CEAPRED staff also trained members of production groups and cooperatives on production planning, post harvest handling and marketing management Overall responsibilities include group formation, training, planning, networking of groups and strengthening of the cooperatives. |
