Mr. Sandeep Uprety was the Project Coordinator and responsible for implementation, supervision and monitoring of the project activities.

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

Over the years, CEAPRED has been working towards the creation of a civil society based on social justice and gender equity in the country. Accordingly, various programmes/projects are being implemented. This project aimed to implement various community development activities to promote good governance, women's empowerment and reduce poverty of the target community. This project was implemented in Babarganj and Ishowarpur Village Development Committees of the district. The project targeted marginal and disadvantaged caste-ethnic groups.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED

The major activities have focused on income generating (vegetable farming, livestock raising), community infrastructure development (micro-irrigation schemes, community hall for facilitating marketing of agricultural inputs and produces of the farmers), human resource development (basic literacy, business literacy, training on skill development), women and child health (raising of awareness on health and sanitation issues) and strengthening the capability of local governance bodies (leadership training to Ward, VDC and district development council members).
